Blackbeards Farm

Veteran Owned & Operated

Hello I am Mike and my wife is Kelly we are proud owners of Black Beards Farm. I served in the Marines for 12 years and was medically retired in 2021. During my time in service I was a aircraft mechanic on AV8B s and then F35B s, working on ejection seats, canopies. I have moved around to different areas threw my career, and been on multiple deployments to include combat zones. When i got stationed back in Sc, I joined CVMA, which is the Combat Motorcycle Association. We are non profit veterans who help the community and other in need veterans, then in 2024 i became Detachment Commander for Beaufort SC. After I retired in 2021 I welded on barges and did heavy equipment maintenance for 6 months. Then got a call to come back to my old squadron here in Beaufort and be a contractor preforming my same job as I did while in. I work with Marines on a daily basis to this day. In 2023 I found property in Islandton Sc and bought it. At that time we started to clear some land and got chickens. March 2024 we both decided to start a farm. We then got 2 goats and then has expanded beyond those animals. My wife, kids, and I are currently in the process of clearing more land to expand for more animals. We will be getting a couple of horses and then hopefully get qualified to do therapy riding for Veterans. At Black Beards Farm we currently sell goats, chickens, chicks, rabbits, eggs, homade candles, worms for fishing and vegetables during certain seasons. At the farm we plan to add a big green house to produce all year long, we also will be getting some cows, and a donkey. Around March of 2025 I will get my hive of honey bees. At that time we will be selling honey, and honey wax candles. Also to come we will be making soaps from goat milk. Lastly we have also in very near future will be offering land clearing, yard work, and helping other farmers planting crop. My wife and I work full time jobs with Marines and the Navy, our kids go to school, then it’s time to get to work on the farm when we get home. Our mission at the farm is to support Veterans first off, and then also provide for the local community fresh food from our land to your table and healthy animals. We all would like to see more families to recognize advancements have came in the word and most people rely on others to do the work, and are will to pay inflation rates. We here on the farm strive to be cheaper than stores and provide a wide variety of items to sell. No need for a middle man or company that has injected animals to grow bigger or faster same thing with foods, and there are no additives from our farm.
